Green Producer Diary

My Motivation

My main inspiration has been music. I think sustainability and using already existing materials is the least we can focus on if we want to contribute to preserving out planet and the environment from the destruction we are causing at many levels. There are such big amounts of unused or discarded or already used fabrics that can be used again for our creative designs that there is no excuse for not usign them.

My Vetrine Journey

The stage that was a bit challenging was the moulage of the garment, I had to find a wire strong enough to support the weight of all the patches that formed the fabric of the corset. But it was only a matter of trying and testing and the teachers and mentor helped a bit with it  so there was no problem.

A Message to Consumers

That music is a big source of inspiration for me and that it accompanies me when I’m thinking of a design and that it can also be an inspiration for other people to create artistic things.

A Message to Future Learners

I would tell them that once they’re inspired by whatever helps them get a creative idea, they should immediately start to think about how they can make that inspiration sustainable and if it turns out not to be sustainable, they should jump to another stage and try to find sustainable materials for the design. I’m sure they will find many more recycled or reused materials than they can initially think of. It’s a matter of making ourselves aware of all the materials that surround us and imagine different uses for them.
